Days Until Production

LOG LINE

A reluctant descendant of civil rights royalty discovers ancestral powers that help him battle the racial crimes and rising tension in his small town.

  • In ‘Pyramids’ Ali, a 25-year-old college student, returns to his hometown of Lannon to care for his ailing aunt, Lady T. A hauntingly realistic dream awakens Ali, leading him on a mysterious journey. Lady T, sensing his discomfort, encourages Ali to seek guidance from his alcoholic uncle.

As Ali begins his day at a local barbershop, he dismisses the buzz surrounding a new serial killer, believing it to be unrelated to racial motives. However, his perspective shifts dramatically when he witnesses a televised address by Dawn, a local activist, who passionately highlights the Black community's outrage over the latest murder victim—whom Ali recognizes from his unsettling dream.

After work, Mr. Bobby, the barbershop's owner and senior barber, challenges Ali's indifference towards the civil rights movement, sparking a tearful confrontation. Ali returns home to discover a mysterious leather book with an unfamiliar inscription. As he pronounces the strange word, he is transported into a crime scene, compelled to intervene.

In a shocking twist, Ali discovers he possesses telekinetic powers, saving a victim from a pursuing gunman by choking the assailant. Bewildered by his newfound abilities, he returns home, only to be met by the enigmatic UNK, waiting for him in his living room.
